Born to Chinese parents, Hock Aun Teh trained at the Glasgow School of Art in the 1970s. His work fuses the freedom and colour of modern American Abstract Painting with the expressive black-and-white calligraphy of ancient China — an explosive release of energy, from gentle mists at dawn to fury at the heart of a storm.
